Golfimprovements Projects
Golf Improvements analyzes, advises and implements improvement processes at golf courses and makes the improvements measurable and visible so that the customers of your course use your golf course and facilities with greater satisfaction. One of the most important aspects of our approach is that we look at the golf course from the golfer’s point of view and help determine their focus which can be on both quality and efficiency, our experience shows that these go together. Golf Improvements has three spearheads:

    1. Strategy determination Like a business, it is important for golf courses to establish a long-term strategy. Many jobs pursue too many goals, making them a little bit of everything, not excelling or different from other jobs. Golf improvements help boards, owners or other stakeholders determine a clear strategy and thereby create clear internal focus. When it is clear internally what the golf course is aiming for, this can also be communicated to the outside world.

    2. Member retention and recruitment Many courses are losing members due to age, the changing golf market (increased supply!) And the emergence of the “new” golfer who plays much more as a green atmosphere than as a full member. Especially given the fact that many clubs are aging considerably, it is important to tackle retention and recruitment of new members in a timely manner. Golf improvements help with this through analyzes of the environment, other membership forms, marketing and planning.
    3. Company memberships / Business club Most (association jobs) cannot afford in terms of size to appoint a full time sales manager, so business memberships often depend on a number of enthusiastic members and there is no clear commercial policy. Golf Improvements offers constructions in which we take on the task of sales manager part-time for, for example, two days a month, so that this area of attention is sufficiently managed. This will allow for additional variable income to be generated and the club will move forward in the business area.

Golf Improvements helps improve Golf Courses from the customer’s point of view of the course. Many new golf courses have been added in the Netherlands in the last 25 years, about 130 of the current 160 and still more courses are added every year.

  • The number of (free) golfers in NL is increasing, but the number of rounds per golfer is decreasing and the customer is becoming increasingly critical.
  • Most golf clubs are dealing with a declining number of members and an aging of their membership base.
  • It is a challenge to manage the catering and service on a golf course both qualitatively and efficiently.
  • Many golf courses developed in the 1980s and 1990s are due for their first major renovation and / or extension.
  • Many golf courses are faced with a shortage of youth members and an influx of (active) people in their thirties and forties to keep the club demographically healthy.
  • Many courses fail to make a choice, or right combination, between the interests of members, green fee players, competitive, sponsor / business and other activities on the golf course and its accommodation.
